A native of South Texas (Karnes City), Calvin L. Day, Jr., graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University, and ranked second in his medical school class at the University of Texas (Southwestern) Medical School at Dallas. He was one of 20 medical school graduates nationwide accepted in the prestigious internal medicine internship and residency program at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He then went on to specialize in dermatology, completing his training in the Harvard Dermatology Program, followed by one year as a fellow in Harvard’s Dermatopathology Program. In his seventh year of post medical school study, he entered a premier training in Mohs Surgery with Dr. Perry Robins at New York University Medical center, and is currently a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS).

Board Certified in Dermatology, Dr. Day began providing CO2 laser treatment in 1983, years ahead of mainstream use. For the past three years, he has administered more Restylane® and more Botox™ than any other physician in San Antonio. He currently leads the San Antonio area in Perlane® syringes administered. His cosmetic clinic, Aesthetic Dermatology Center of San Antonio, offers the latest in laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and other new devices for aesthetic skin treatments. These include the Fraxel™ Laser, for treatment of acne scarring, facial lines including lip, cheek, forehead and crow’s feet lines, firming of crepe skin, removal of pigment spots and overall improvement in skin texture. In 2006, Dr. Day’s aesthetic center performed more Fraxel treatments than any other clinic in San Antonio. In April 2008, Dr. Day became one of the first physicians in the San Antonio area to offer the Fraxel Re:pair ™ Laser, a new type of CO2 laser for skin resurfacing to tighten the skin and to treat the wrinkles, redness, brown spots and rough skin associated with sun damage. His aesthetic center also offers the Gemini™ Laser for leg veins, facial spider veins, brown spots and skin revivification, the StarLux™ IPL System for spider veins, pigment spots and laser hair removal. Thermage® is used to treat cellulite and to tighten skin in many areas, including eyes, lips, face, neck, buttocks, arms, legs, and abdomen.
A TEACHER AND A DEVOTED DOCTOR
Simply stated, Dr. Day is devoted to providing the best medical care. He taught skin surgery for 17 years at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, where he is Clinical Professor of Medicine (Dermatology). Since 1983, his office has remained open Saturdays and evenings, Monday through Thursday. And in true Texan style - he's been known to make a home visit...or two.
